Fountain Pump House in Mega Kuningan Burnt

Fountain pump house in Mega Kuningan office area, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, burnt, Friday (8/7) about 7.30 AM.

"I was about to go to the office at 7.30 AM, then I saw high black smoke from a distance. And when I approached it, it turned out the fire happened behind of Mega Kuningan Police Post," said Renata (31), one of staffs of private company in the area.

Head of Controlling Operation Section for South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-Department, Edy Sucipto stated, the fire source was in the basement of the pump house. "The building is fountain pump house on the location. It's in the basement," he stated.

As many as 16 fire trucks were deployed to manage the flame. "It's the commerce area,  thus we deploy with big power as it is feared would strike other offices. And it could be managed an hour later," he told.

The fire cause is still unknown. But based on the temporary allegation, it was caused by electrical short circuit. "It was allegedly caused by electrical short circuit," he closed.
